About Dr. Ward
I grew up in the midwest and made my way to Pittsburgh to study at Duquense University where I completed a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology. My training is humanistic in nature and focused on identifying the existential issues (insecurity, poor view of self) that affect the way people approach the world and respond to it.
In addition to experience and training I obtained at Duquesne University I also specialized in working with adolescents and families and have continued this work throughout my career through my private practice. Most of my work in this area has centered on adolescent depression and anxiety as well as addressing childhood acting out behavior.
Although most of my early training and experience was with children, I also have more than twenty years experience working with adults and couples. I have worked in a federal correctional institution where I ran programs related to drug and alcohol addiction as well as issues related to inappropriate sexual behavior and compulsive use of pornography.
In short, therapy and helping people make changes in their lives is what I do. I have a laid back but direct and non-judgmental approach and feel confident that most people will see positive changes through working with me.
